What I do
Frau Skill is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer working in graphics, digital media and textiles.
The work is alternatively personal and political, exploring themes of regeneration and renewal in both the global environment and the personal sphere.
How I do it
My process involves interpreting the world through digital media, photography and words. Thinking conceptually about how the random pieces fit together. Thinking about how things make us feel.
Why I do it
After starting out in fashion, it became difficult to rationalise the creation of more physical stuff when our planet is under so much pressure. Working digitally removes physical barriers and enables guilt free creative expression. My desire to express myself in clothes remains strong, although I make slower, more considered fashion choices now.
Where I work
Based in Naarm (Melbourne) but a keen explorer of places close by and far away.
